Relationships can be complicated and confusing at times.
So many factors go in to building and maintaining a healthy relationship with a partner that it is no surprise that sometimes, things go wrong.

It is normal for each of us to go through relationships in our lives that just do not work out the way that we had hoped. In a best case scenario, we learn from our experience and then move on.

There are times though, that we find ourselves wondering if the time was really right to end things.

Certainly, if there is abuse in a relationship, it needs to end. There is no one who deserves to spend their life being miserable or feeling beaten down, either mentally or physically by a person who says they love them. Many times though, relationships end in the heat of the moment.

Sometimes an argument goes too far or circumstances just seem to conspire, and before you know it, you have said or done things that you may regret and your relationship is left in shambles. When relationships end like this, there are often many regrets and unanswered questions that can haunt you for the rest of your life.

Getting back together with an ex in a situation like this can sometimes be the right thing to do, but the situation has to be confronted properly. Rushing back and begging for forgiveness or trying to guilt the other person into a reconciliation is seldom the best course to take.

If there were serious issues with the relationship before it ended, they must be addressed so that a similar outcome can be avoided in the future if you do reconcile. If the relationship ended in a way that was brought on in the heat of the moment, the events leading up to that moment must be carefully considered and avoided in the future.
